It works best on people and clear subjects with good contrast against the background. Very fine hair and translucent edges (glass, sheer fabric) may show minor artifacts — a shared limitation of real-time on-device matting. The cleaner the background and the more distinct the subject, the crisper the edges.
Is my photo uploaded or kept?
No. The first run caches a ~40MB MODNet model in your browser, after which every cutout runs on your device — the image is never sent to a server, stored, or used for training.
Can I turn the cutout into products or graphics right away?
Yes. Once you have the transparent PNG you can drop it straight into print-on-demand products — stickers, tees, mugs — and there's a Printful link below the result. The exported PNG also drops cleanly into any layout or compression tool you already use.
